The liquefaction activity at the National Building Museum was a big hit.

The ASCE community celebrated National Engineers Week, Feb. 21-27, in a variety of ways.
Many members in the Washington, DC, area attended Family Day at the National Building Museum, which featured a presentation and activity for kids about liquefaction from the National Capital Section. Keep up with the National Capital Section on Facebook.
REGION 2 NEWS
New Faces of Civil Engineering demonstrate inspiring talent, service

ASCE recently announced its 2016 New Faces of Civil Engineering, and four Region 2 members made the list. ASCE selects 10 New Faces in each of two categories – Professionals (age 30 and younger) and College (students) – as part of DiscoverE’s New Faces of Engineering program.

Baltimore-based structural engineer Matthew McCarty was selected among the New Faces Professionals. Rachel Grafman, Steven Mezzacappa, and Gary Wallace Jr. each were honored in the College category. Grafman is a civil engineering student at the University of Maryland. Mezzacappa studies architectural engineering at Penn State. Wallace is active in the Student Chapter at Morgan State University.
