PURDUE UNIVERSITY STUDENT CHAPTER Purdue student wins Dream Big Contest grand prize Photo courtesy of Nathan Shellhamer Purdue University student Nathan Shellhamer won the grand prize in the ASCE Dream Big Contest. Purdue University junior Nathan Shellhamer was attending the Multi-Region Leadership Conference in Pittsburgh last month with his fellow members of the Boilermaker Student Chapter. Little did he know he was about to be announced as the top prize winner in ASCE’s Dream Big contest. Shellhamer won a trip for two to an international location shoot for the filming of the engineering IMAX epic, Dream Big. The trip will take him to either Dubai, Rome, or Venice, depending on the film’s shooting schedule. “I think it’ll be interesting from a student perspective,” he said. “You hear about these things in class, these big projects. So to get to go there and actually see them – and then on top of that to see how they’re filmed for the movie – to be a part of it and kind of see it firsthand, it’s going to be awesome.” Read more about Shellhamer, and keep up with the Purdue Student Chapter. |
