FY2021 Appropriations Letters

ASCE believes an immediate step Congress can take to improve America's infrastructure is to return to a regular order appropriations cycle and provide adequate funding to existing federal infrastructure and research programs and accounts.

ASCE has long been an advocate for imporving and maintaing the nation's infrastructure. ASCE's 2017 Infrastructure Report Card rates the overall condition of the nation's infrastructure a "D+," with an investment gap of $2 trillion. An economic study we released last year found that the U.S. is on track to invest only half of what is need in infrastructure over the next decade. This underinvestment will cause our infrastructure to further degrade, resulting in a loss of 2.5 million jobs and $3.9 trillion in GDP by 2025 and will cost American Families $3,400 a year - $9 a day.
